Lead Kids Pastor

Job Description
Position Summary

The Kids pastor at WCAG leads our Kids Ministry (Nursery-5th Grade) with passion, creativity, and a life-giving spirit. This leader sees children as valuable assets to the Kingdom of God and is committed to helping them encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover their God-given purpose. The Kids Pastor will provide oversight to weekly ministry environments as well as key annual events, while equipping and inspiring volunteers to thrive in their areas of service.

Key Responsibilities

Sundays
  • Provide leadership and direction for Elementary, Preschool, Nursery, and Check-In Desk.
  • Ensure each area is welcoming, safe, and effective in pointing kids toward Jesus.
  • Oversee curriculum selection and teaching that engages kids in Scripture in a fun and memorable way.
  • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers who serve faithfully each week.
Wednesdays
  •  Provide leadership and direction for Elementary, Preschool, Nursery, and Check-In Desk.
  • Develop engaging midweek programming that reinforces discipleship and helps kids grow deeper in their faith.
  • Encourage volunteer leaders to minister with joy and energy

Annual Events
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) First week of June.
    Lead, organize, and empower teams to create a high-energy, gospel-centered week for kids in our community.
  • Kids Camp: July
    Promote, organize, and lead kids in experiencing God at Network Camp
  • Fall Festival: October 31st
    Partner with volunteers to host a safe, fun, and welcoming community outreach.
  • Kids Christmas Program: Christmas Season
    Direct a Christ-centered and joy-filled Christmas experience led by kids.
  • BGMC Marketplace: February
    Inspire generosity and missions passion in kids through creative and fun BGMC fundraising events.

Office Secretary

Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • Primary function is to provide support for the Business Administrator, Pastors, and members for all activities of the church as needed. 
  • Provide a welcoming, confidential, and positive environment for all visitors to the church, or callers during office hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in office apps, Excel, and email systems. 
  • Website maintenance and graphic skills.
  • Must have general knowledge of all office equipment and supplies. 
  • Must possess good telephone and communication skills. 
  • Must be able to deal with various types of personalities, both on the phone and in person, in a professional manner. 
  • Must be in adequate health to be dependable with good attendance and punctuality. 
  • Must be able to work independently, managing work and communications flexibly. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background check.

DUTIES INCLUDE, NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Prepare weekly bulletins and other documents as requested. 
  • Send email for communicating information to church members on an as needed basis. 
  • Answer the phone and transfer calls or take messages. 
  • Perform general office work; maintain supplies. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Keep calendar of appointments, building use, church activities. 
  • Order materials or supplies; occasionally pick up supplies. 
  • Maintain the church mailing lists and e-mail lists and keep them current. Handle mail and correspondence, purchasing stamps as needed. 
  • Check email and respond. 
  • Do routine letters and documents as requested; thank-you notes and acknowledgements.  
  • Maintain church database. Record membership changes.
  • Prepare certificates for all church rites (baby dedication, baptism, etc.). 
  • Maintain organization of office area. 
  • Prepare new members information packets. 
  • Prepare, proof, and print any items needed for funerals, weddings, special church events. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Church Custodian

Location: WCAG Watford City
Department Type: Facility | Custodial
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Description
Position Summary: The purpose of this position primarily consists of general housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, taking out trash, dusting and cleaning restrooms. The Custodian sweeps and mops floors, vacuums carpets, clean rugs, washes windows and dust furniture. Additional jobs include maintaining custodial supplies

General Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Conduct and present themselves in a manner fitting a church staff member
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the complete Church facility ensuring that it is presentable at time of use.

Working Conditions
  • The Church Custodian will work primarily indoors, but may be required to work outdoors for events and activities. The position may require working in areas with cleaning chemicals and other potentially hazardous materials.

Qualifications:
  • Possess a high school diploma or hold a general education degree (GED) certificate, is desired.
  • At least one year of prior experience in custodial duties, preferably in a church or similar setting.
  • The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background check.
  • Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in English; written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Be conscientious and able to work independently (unsupervised).
  • Be familiar with custodial equipment (e.g. hand and small power tools, ladders, floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, etc.).
  • Have strong customer service skills and the ability to get along with others.
  • Be in good physical health (ability to transfer weight up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to climb and work from ladders; ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel; possess hand-eye coordination and arm/hand/finger dexterity).
  • Be cooperative and show respect and courtesy to all church staff, church members, and church visitors.
  • Be punctual, trustworthy, and willing to work.
  • Be flexible in availability to accommodate the schedule of church activities.
  • Must maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Be flexible as this role will have other small cleaning services on a non-recurring basis. 
  • Minor Repairs may be asked if the person feels comfortable performing the task (changing light bulbs or other general facility tasks)
  • Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
